Editorial principles

Six rules shape every page on this site, from a software profile to a setup guide.

Last revised Oct 9, 2026

1. Facts before adjectives

A claim about a platform must trace back to something checkable: a vendor feature page, published pricing, a security attestation or our shared facts file. If we cannot point to a source, we write the claim as a question for the buyer to ask.

2. Say what is missing

Every profile lists gaps as plainly as strengths. A missing feature is written as “not listed in our facts file”, because some vendors sell features as add-ons or ship them after our last check.

3. No invented testing

We do not claim to have timed uploads, opened support tickets or run test bidders through a room. Where that kind of check matters, we give you the steps to run it yourself during a trial or demo.

4. Commercial independence

Affiliate links exist on this site, and the affiliate policy explains them. They are kept away from the scoring model: weights and formulas are published, and no vendor can pay for a position, a score or a review. Guides link only to pages on this site, never to vendor checkout pages.

5. Prices with context

Prices are in US dollars, marked as indicative and dated by the monthly re-check. When a platform is quote-only we never invent a vendor price; calculators use a labelled market band instead.

6. Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the page date. Vendors and readers can send corrections through the contact page. We reply to factual corrections, but we do not let vendors review or approve copy before publication.
