The controller
The data described on this page is handled by Data Rooms Software, the publisher of dataroomssoftware.info. Questions about it go to the editors via the contact page.
Three sources of data
- Visit statistics. Which pages were opened, roughly where from (country or city), on what kind of device and browser, from which referring page, and the path taken through the site. We read these numbers in aggregate to see which comparisons and guides earn their place.
- Messages you send. Writing to us through the contact form shares a name, an email address and the text of the message. They are used for the reply and nothing else.
- Hosting logs. The infrastructure that serves the site writes brief technical records (IP address, timestamp, requested address) used for security and fault finding.
Nothing on this list is sold, rented or passed to advertisers, and the site carries no advertising trackers.
Cookies
Two analytics tools set cookies or similar identifiers here:
- Google Analytics 4 runs in Consent Mode. Ad-related storage is permanently denied. Measurement storage starts enabled and is disabled the moment you opt out.
- PostHog records product analytics and session replays. Every form field is masked in replays, so typed text never appears in a recording.
A small card in the corner of the screen offers the opt-out on a first visit. The decision is remembered in this browser’s local storage as drs_consent. Changing your mind later means clearing stored data for dataroomssoftware.info in the browser settings, after which the card appears again.
Separately, session storage holds a flag that stops the software quiz from opening more than once per visit. It disappears when the tab is closed.
Processing locations
Google and PostHog process measurement data on servers in the United States. Messages from the contact form travel by email through a transactional email service.
Retention
Measurement data expires after a maximum of 14 months. A message to the editors is deleted once the matter it raised is closed, and in any case within a year.
Your choices and rights
Depending on your country, the law may let you see the personal data held about you, correct it, have it erased, object to its use or complain to a regulator. Send a request through the contact page; we answer within 30 days.
